High Water Flows Scheduled for Tallulah Gorge

By November 10, 2017 News No Comments

Georgia Power and the Tallulah Gorge State Park invite the public to the Park on November 11 and 12 and November 18 and 19 to enjoy the sights and sounds of higher flows through the gorge.  The best spots for viewing flows on these dates will be overlook areas 1, 9 and 10.  Please reference the trail map located on the web at http://gastateparks.org/sites/default/files/parks/pdf/trailmaps/TallulahGorge_TrailMap.pdf . In addition to serving the paddling community, these flows are intended to replace the aesthetic flow weekends that were cancelled on September 17 and 18, due to tropical storm Irma and on October 4 and 6 due to lower than normal inflow into the basin.
