Please be advised that on Wednesday and Thursday June 28th and June 29th 2017, Georgia Power will begin the first phase of multiple aquatic herbicide treatments to portions of Lakes Harding and Oliver. This week, treatments on Lake Harding will take place in the main body of the lake and will not affect homeowners. Treatments on Lake Oliver will affect a small number of homeowners who have been notified via letter for temporary water use restrictions. For reference, those use restrictions are:
- Do not use treated water for drinking purposes for three full days following treatment.
- Do not use treated water for irrigating lawns or ornamental plants for three full days following treatment.
Of note, after the July 4th holiday we will begin a second phase of treatments. We will follow up this week with a separate post combining treatment locations on Lakes Harding and Oliver.
